How to Manage a 7 Figure Business and Your Personal Life

April 20th, 2017 Entrepreneur

If you are a small business owner, you may feel as though there is not enough time in the day to get things done. There are days that I have wished for just a few more hours to complete my work. Time management is KEY to growing your business.

As a business owner, your schedule can get hectic when balancing both your business and your personal life. It is important, however, to manage your time wisely in order to get the most out of your day.

If you are constantly asking yourself, “Where has the day gone?”,  you may need to start implementing some of these time management tactics into your schedule.

1) Prioritize wisely

Label your tasks to have a clear understanding of what needs to be done and when. Label each task with the following categories:

  • High priority: These are tasks that must be completed and have a deadline that is quickly approaching.
  • Medium priority: Tasks that are important, but are not urgent. These tasks have a deadline, but you have time to do them.
  • Low priority: These tasks can be set to the side until the ones with a higher priority are done first.

2) Set a time limit for each task

Before you start your day, look at your tasks that need to be completed. Your level of understanding regarding the task will determine how long it will take. This will allow you to allot your time accordingly.

3) Use Your Calendar

Once you have determined how much time it will take to finish your tasks, take advantage of your calendar and log everything that needs to get done during the day. Your calendar will serve as a visual reminder of how much time you have for each event throughout the day.

4) Delegate more often

Use the power of other people’s assistance. Create a list of the tasks you are willing to delegate. As a business owner, you should be spending your time on tasks that are crucial for your business to grow and succeed. If you have any smaller tasks, these can be given to your employees to lighten your workload and enable you to focus on more important things.

The goal of time management is to arrange your commitments in a way that minimizes your stress level, even while working. Remember that time management all starts with you.
